F.A.Q.

Where is the recital?

At Riverbend High School. 12301 Spotswood Furnace Road, Fredericksburg.

When is the recital?

Saturday, December 16th at 3pm

Do I need to purchase tickets?

Yes. Tickets are $15 in advance & $15 at the door. We can only accept cash/check at the High School.

When does my child need to arrive for the recital?

Just a clarification on the 2 Acts:

Act I is all Students in “The Nutcracker.” So this act consists Creative Movement, Pre-Ballet, Beg. I/II Ballet, Beg. III Ballet, Int. I Ballet, Int. II Ballet, Int. III Ballet, Adv. I Ballet, Adv. II Ballet, & Pre-Pointe/Pointe

Act II is all students in “Holiday Inn.” So this act consists of Beg. I Tap, Beg. II Tap, Int. I Tap, Adv. I Tap, Adv. II Tap, Beg. I Musical Theatre, Beg. II Musical Theatre, Int. I Musical Theatre, Int. II Musical Theatre, Int. III Musical Theatre, Adv. I Musical Theatre, & Adv. II Musical Theatre.

Here is how Saturday, December 16th will go: (we will run our rehearsals backwards so students in “The Nutcracker” don’t have to return their rented costumes to just pick them up again in a few hours.)

Students in Act II–report to Riverbend High School by 10:45am. We will start our dress rehearsal at 11:15. So you may want to come with hair & make-up done for your first dance.

Students in Act I–report to Riverbend High School by 12:15 to check out your costume. The Siecks will also be doing pictures at the high school of your child with their class and individuals. If you want to order pictures please stick around so you can get your order to them. We will start this rehearsal no later than 1:00.

If your child is in both Acts, please be aware that this will be a long day, but they can do it!! Provide a nut-free/mess free snack, water, books, etc. We will have back stage volunteers that have been helping us for years help with the dressing rooms so your child will be in good hands.

If your child is only in Act I: They need to report by 12:15 and stay until intermission of our recital. So I am guessing they will be done around 4:00. They are free to watch Act. II in the audience with you for free.

If your child is only in Act II: They need to report by 10:45 and they should be done by 12:45 and need to report back to the high school to be backstage by 2:30. I want all Act II students to be back in the dressing rooms by 2:30 so we have less confusion. Students in Act II do have a break where you can take them out to lunch or if your day is crazy they are more than welcomed to just stay backstage the whole day as long as they behave. Our recital should be done around 5:15.

How do I know if my child is in Act I or Act II?
Act I “Nutcracker”-are all students in Ballet, Pointe/Pre-Pointe, Creative Movement, & Pre-Ballet

Act II “Holiday Inn”-are all students in Beg. I Tap, Beg. II Tap, Int. I Tap, Adv. I & II Tap, Beg. I Musical Theatre, Beg. II Musical Theatre, Int. I Musical Theatre, Int. II Musical Theatre, Int. III Musical Theatre, Adv. I & II Musical Theatre.

What make-up should my child wear?
Students 8 & younger need to wear a foundation to help with the shine from the lights, mascara, blush, and red lipstick. Students that are older than 8, need to wear foundation, blush, neutral eyeshadow (browns), black eyeliner, mascara, and red lip stick.

What should their hair be like?
A list was provided in your folder & one will be posted backstage & it is listed below on this page.

What if my child has a fast change or needs help with a change?
You are more than welcomed to talk to Ms. Roxanne about that. She will have dressing stations set up backstage. If your child needs help in the dressing room, you can just come back real quick to help and then go back out into the audience to watch.
